Client Stories
Toms + McNally Design Group
This client sought my facilitation services to help them develop the structure of an analytic report to be presented to municipal government. As a busy architecture firm, having help jump-starting this work was important. Over the course of a few hours we determined the contents, key points and information sources, and established specific roles for moving forward and doing the work.
Dr Emily Bennett, ND
Emily is a naturopath and dedicated community member whose commitment to social justice shapes all aspects of her life. Together we explored how she can continue to develop community events, support underserved populations while maintaining a sustainable business model AND find balance between work, family, social life, and her own health. We started with a free-flowing brainstorm session then explored themes that emerged and were able to pinpoint several key areas of focus.
David of dmc Visions Design Group
An entrepreneur since the age of fifteen, David is still at the helm of his expanding and changing business more than twenty years later. Our session focused on priority setting, in terms of deciding which products to shift towards and why, but also which aspects of business operation fuel his entrepreneurial spirit and which ones he should consider having someone else do. We paid attention to the balance between security, risk, and reward as we evaluated what he is producing and how he is operating.
Brooke of MakeShift
This client came to me to explore a maker-space business idea that she had been feeling excited about but unsure of how (and whether) to follow through with. Our work together involved refining exactly what her business would and would not offer, discussing competing businesses and opportunities for collaboration, and how business ownership would fit into her family life. After mapping out these factors, Brooke determined that starting the business in the short term would come at great personal cost. There were, however, opportunities to be active in the creative world that she loves, which would move her steadily towards her goal. Brooke started a creative blog and website, and has been working on developing strong community connections with like-minded individuals and business owners, so that when the time comes to launch her business she will do so with the support of her local creative community and she will better understand where she fits within it.
